Visitor Parking

Parking & Accessibility

Car parking is clearly signed from the centre of Stanhope. Please follow the directions for the visitor car park.

The main car park is in the Castle Park Car Park the main entrance to the show field is a short walk across the footbridge. 

Disabled Parking 

Blue Badge holders and those of our visitors with mobility problems should advise the stewards in the Castle Park Car Park accordingly. You will be directed to the  designated section of Castle Park Car Park. 

Remember When Parking 

  • If you visit the show by car, please park sensibly and be sensitive to local residents. 
  • Do not leave animals in un-ventilated cars, especially in warm weather. 
  • Make sure your car is secure and you remove any valuables. 

You will be directed to a safe car parking area by our experienced parking stewards.  

If you have mobility issues please let the stewards know and they will direct you to the designated area of the car park.  This is close to the showground but there is a short walk on flat grass and then a path leading to the ticket booth. 

Please do remember the showfield can be uneven and there may be hidden indentations and areas where animals have trodden which can cause difficulty walking. In wet conditions the grass will become slippery.

Where is the showground?

We are located beside the B6278 road which leads to Eggleston and Teesdale. Access is good for visitors travelling from all directions as Stanhope is located on the cross-roads formed by the intersection of the B6278 and the A689 road.
