Dog Sections, Shows and Bringing Your Own Dog

We  welcome dogs at Stanhope Show and have lots going on for dogs and their owners.

We ask that you keep your dogs under control, on a lead and pick up after them.

There are certain areas where dogs can’t go, including in the Sheep, Cattle, Fur and Feather areas.

We offer inclusive dog shows at Stanhope Show and  welcome our doggy visitors to the show.

On Saturday watch the :

  • KC Dog Obedience see how it should be done with perfect cooperation between handler and dog.

On Sunday watch the:

As you would expect:

  • All dogs must kept on a lead unless competing. 
  • Dog poop must be cleaned up from the showfield, car parks and adjoining areas and footpaths.
  • Dogs MUST NOT be left unattended in vehicles.

Dog Agility

Dog Agility :     Sunday 15th September 2024

Dog agility classes take place on Sunday morning of the show and all details should be directed to the section secretary. 

This competition is for trained agility dogs but please contact our secretary if you would like further details.

Fun Dog Show 

Sunday 15th September 2024    Entry Fee: £1 entries taken ringside on the day

Bring your dog along and enter our completely inclusive dog show.  It doesn’t matter if they are pedigree or Heinz 57…we love our dogs and this dog show celebrates the very best of how we feel about them!

Is your dog THE dog that the judge would most want to take home?  Does he have the waggiest tail, the prettiest eyes …or does your dog actually LOOK like you? The emphasis is on FUN and TAKING PART

Entries taken at the ringside. ENTRY FEE: £1

ROSETTES FOR 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class


1.Best puppy under 12 months old
2.Best golden oldie…over 10 years of age
3.Best rescue dog (Trophy donated by L Johnstone)
4.The dog with the waggiest tail
5.The dog the judge would most like to take home
6.Dog with the prettiest eyes
7.The best child handler
8.The dog most like its owner.

Entries will be taken on the day at the ringside.

Have a Go Gundog Bale Scurry

Sunday 15th September 2024

11am – 3.30pm followed by prize giving at the scurry lane

Entry Fee £2 per run or £5 for 3 runs – entries taken at the scurry lane

Everyone is welcome to come and join us for a little bit of fun with your dog. If your dog enjoys retrieving then come along and have a go. All breeds large and small can compete.


  • Adult Handler Prizes and rosettes 1st – 4th place
  • Junior (under 16) Handler Prizes and rosettes 1st – 4th Place
  • Most Entertaining run of the day 1st prize and rosette
