Stanhope Show is an Agricultural show held annually at Unthank Park, Stanhope.
Stanhope Agricultural Society was formed in 1834, there has been a show held in Stanhope since then with the exception of the war years, postponements and foot and mouth.
The show is held on the second weekend of September over the Saturday and Sunday. The show consists primarily of the exhibition of local sheep, cattle and industrial produce, Showjumping, horse and pony classes.
The 2008 show held on Sat 13th and Sun 14th September will be the 167th.
Admission is charged to members of the public whilst exhibitors, subscribers and members are admitted upon the production of a ticket. Ages attending the show range from OAPs to small children and babies.
Crowds are usually in the region of 5-10,000 per day largely dependent upon the weather. The site covers approximately 12 acres of grassland.
